Newport to Bristol. 69km.

The bad news is that we've had a steady mild southeasterly headwind for days now. The good news is that it has been keeping the rain away. When the wind swings around to the south west or west, it will probably bring rain with it. We have been very lucky with the weather so far.

So, we said goodbye to Wales at the Severne Bridge, and hello again to England with a nice easy flat ride today.

The outskirts of Bristol remind me very much of the outskirts of old Salisbury, Rhodesia as it used to be. It has the same post-war, newer architecture, and the gardens seem bigger than the older cities closer to London. Bristol is very cycle-friendly. Stayed at Premier Inn, Bristol City.

Route: Newport - Redwick - Undy - Mounton - Chepstow - Aust - Pilning - Redland - Bristol.
