New Zealand cycle trip

Journey started with a visit to Malaga Cycles in Perth, Western Australia to buy 2 Scott Sportster bicycles.  Service and advice from Jason and crew was outstanding and we left Perth with a lot more knowledge on bicycles and bicycle maintenance and repairs, thanks to Jason.

Wellington midnight 5May 2011
Negotiated customs with giant bike boxes in tow, which were too big to fit through airport terminal doors and xray machines!  Shuttle bus with trailer just big enough and very kind driver took us safely to youth hostel.
First bike ride to explore Wellington.  2.9 km, puncture.  Finally beautiful 38 km ride around harbour and peninsular area.  Cycled up a cliff to Botanical gardens which were very  beautiful.
First time cycled with fully loaded bikes we nearly died of shock.  Bikes like motor bikes.  Wobbled our way to ferry terminal.  Ferry ride to Picton through Queen Charlotte sound very beautiful.  Picton picturesque and peaceful.
Water taxi to Ships Cove to start of 70km Queen Charlotte track which we cycled over three days.  Complete insanity.  Track very muddy and slippery and precipices all over the show.  Beautiful and luxurious accommodation stopovers to recover from a hard day's ride.
Next destination Blenheim - a pleaseant 38 km ride.  Discovered a lovely 30 km ride along the Taylor River.
