Easy short ride to Basel, with nice weather and lots of weekend cyclists on the track. When we crossed the very fast flowing Rhine River to go into Basel city, we also crossed the border and had to go through a kind of customs check point. They just waved us through when we showed them our Australian passports.
Basel is somewhat different to the French cities. It has a big tram network, and the architecture seems somehow different. Our hotel has given us free tram and bus passes for the duration of our stay, so we will be exploring Basel for the next three days. Stayed at Easy Hotel.
Route: Mulhouse - Kembs - Huningue - Basel.
