Another beautiful day and a great ride. Yesterday at about 9.30am, we passed a canal boat named Wabi-Sabi, and we noticed it because of the African-sounding name. It was travelling at about the same speed as us (around 18 kph.), but we soon left it behind us, because it had to stop to go through the locks. To our surprise, we overtook it again at about 10.30 am today, so it must have travelled all day and well into the evening to keep up with us. There are lots of locks on the Doubs River, because of all the rapids. We met another very nice Swiss couple, who were riding from Dole to Basel.
We got a bit lost in the last 5 km, trying to find our hotel in Etupes, but all's well that ends well. Stayed at La Veille Ferme, Etupes.
Route: Pont-les-Moulins - Beaume-les-Dames - Clerval - L'isle-sur-le-Doubs - Colombier-Fontaine - Montbeliard - Audincourt - Etupes.
