A better day today with the sun shining and a nice tailwind all day. We came across a small village called Parnay, which has been built into a limestone cliff where some of the houses are half house/half cave. I heard a real cuckoo bird call today. At first I thought that it was a cuckoo clock, because we were passing some houses, but the I heard it again 10 minutes later when we were riding through forest. It sounds just like a cuckoo clock. The French people have been remarkably friendly everywhere we go.
The huge Chateau at Saumur was very impressive.
