Friday 30th September 2011 Acle to Cromer 80 km
Lovely day - warm and a tail wind again. We cycled back to the east coast (Caister-on-Sea) and then followed route 30 all along the coast. The quiet country lanes are just delightful. Most of the old abbeys and old houses (and farm walls), are built using flint instead of limestone or brick. It gives the area it's own character. We both really like the open spaciousness of Norfolk.
Cromer is a great example of an English seaside resort, with a fun park, lots of hotels and a big pavilion on a purpose built pier. The Alan Price Set is playing at the theatre there. Alan Price was the original keyboardist and organ player for the Animals. He played the organ on "The house of the rising sun" and "Please don't let me be misunderstood". I wish we had another night here so we could go and see his show. We have passed through so many beautiful little seaside towns.
