Saturday 1st October 2011 Cromer to Fakenham 52 km
The Cromer Country Club was superb - a bit of luxury for my 60th birthday!
Rode through Fellbrig Hall which is a National Heritage Trust owned estate. It must have once been owned by a very wealthy family. We felt like we were riding through a Jane Austin movie - castle, abby, stables, rolling parklands etc.
It was hot and still today. When we were in New Zealand they had the warmest and longest autumn in I think 37 years, and now we are in England and the TV news told us that today was the hottest October day on record - 29.9 centigrade.
We passed a church (Our Lady Of Walsingham), which was built in 1061 and is still in use. It is noted on our map as a Holy Site.
